Obituary of John Fratella
John F. Fratella, age 85, a native of Staten Island died Friday, September 18, 2009 at Forest Manor Health Care of Hope, NJ.
John was born March 16, 1924 in Staten Island, NY a son of the late Alfred and the late Katherine (Klein) Fratella. He was the husband of the late Josephine A. Cataletto. John moved to Washington Township, NJ in 1999 and resided with his daughter and son-in-law, Carol and John Miller until his admittance into Forest Manor in 2009.
John graduated from Curtis High School. He served in the Navy during World War II from 1942 - 1946. He was employed by Bayonne Military Ocean Terminal as a clerk. John was a lifetime member of the American Legion, Toms River Post, a member of the Social Club at St Joseph's Catholic Church, Washington, NJ and an active at the Warren County Senior Nutrition Program.
He is survived by one daughter: Carol and her husband John Miller of Washington Township, NJ and one son, Robert and his wife Mary Jo Fratella of Covington, WA; three stepsons, Ronald and Robert Cataletto, both of Staten Island and Thomas Cataletto of Brick, NJ; daughter-in-law, Ellen Fratella of Hillsborough, NJ; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, John is predeceased by his son, John A. Fratella, and his twin brother, Alfred.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 200 Carlton Ave., Washington, NJ 07882.
