With great sadness I leaned of Joey's passing today from my mom, Mrs Harold Leeper. Both Dad and I work for the Cooper's at the Gulf gas station on Roseberry Street and Memorial Parkway. I recall the first night working - Joey and locked up but left all the brand new tires outside. The next morning I arrived at work to find Joe Sr and Joey marveling that not a single tire was missing. I recall many good times with Joey and his blue Buick. I'm sure Joey is resting in peace. You were always my first call when I had a problem, needed advice, read something in the news, or just wanted to tell you about my day...Ive already told mom she will now be that call and she said that she hopes you help her out and tell her the right things to say. I am so glad that you were able to be at my wedding. I will cherish those memories forever. I am so glad I got to share that dance with you...although you originally said.."do I have to? I don't dance" I know that you will be with me and the rest of the family always...please don't ever stop giving us signs...You were called way to early..but I am so proud of how hard you fought. You never gave up no matter how bad things got and for that I thank you for allowing us extra time to spend with you. You are now finally at peace, you body is whole once again, and you're no longer in pain and suffering. Please continue to watch over each of us...everyday. I promise you we will be okay..and you don't have to worry about us. (I know you're worrying!!!) We will take care of Mom and stay together as a family...it may not always be easy (so yes you'll need to help us out)but we will do it. I love and miss you soo much Dad...but I'll see you again. Dad I miss you more than words can even express. You were my rock and I don't know what I am going to do or who I will turn to with out you. I will keep my promise to you and take care of the family although I am not nearly ready to do it alone. I will do my best to make you proud. When we boarded a cruise to Bermuda in 1986, we expected to have a great vacation, but in addition we met a wonderful family; whose friendship outweighed any vacation. The young family who we met were the Coppers. Joe, Cathy & little Kristen. Then came our beautiful Goddaughter Danielle and Joey. More recently were welcome to the family were Dylan and Germain. Joe instantly touched our hearts, he was not only a great father but a kind soul and friend. He will be truly missed and not only imprinted in our memories but also our hearts. We love you all.
