Obituary of LaVerne Stewart

LaVerne Stewart 88, went peacefully to be with the Lord at her home in Warren Haven Nursing home on Friday April 20, 2018.

She was born in Paterson NJ, October 22, 1929. She was the daughter of the late Roy and Jane DePew Griffin.

One of LaVerne’s enjoyments was working at the Candy Counter at Bartons candy department at the Meyers Brothers Department store in Paterson NJ. She loved to read and tell stories and you could always find her in the library.

Later in life she was a Nurses Aid at the Andover Nursing Home in Andover NJ.

She has lived at Warren Haven for the past 12 years coming from Washington NJ. She has also resided in Paterson NJ and Forrest Lake NJ.

Her loving husband Joseph preceded her in death in September of 2001.

Surviving LaVerne is her son Joseph and his wife Linda of Hope NJ, a daughter, Joyce Mullikin and her husband Dwayne of Bangor PA. a son in law Peter Loux, Seven grandchildren; Shawn Stewart, Lindsay Stewart, Shane Stewart, Dana Mullikin, Jennifer Berger, Holly Loux Cain, and Laura Loux, and three great grandchildren; Madeline, Piper and Ryder.

She is also predeceased by her daughter LaVerne Loux.

LaVerne’s wishes were to have no services, but would like Memorial donations in  her name to St Jude Childrens Hospital at
