Obituary of Elizabeth Bryan

Elizabeth K. Bryan, 90, currently residing at the Phillipsburg Care Center formerly of Washington, NJ passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at St. Luke's Warren Campus, Phillipsburg, NJ. Elizabeth was born on November 6, 1921 in Chemnitz, Germany. She migrated to America when she was four years old. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Herman and Hedwig ( nee Scheffler) Kohler. Elizabeth attended Washington High School, Washington, NJ. She help to established Bryan's Florist as one of the leading business in Washington NJ and later worked as Floral Designer at Weiss Florists in Easton, PA for over 20 years. She was a member of the Eastern Star Washington Chapter 136, a member of the Warren Grange and Washington Women's Club. She was a former Grand Marshal of the 4th of July parade and past Woman of the Year in Warren County, 2004. She was also a member of the Washington United Methodist Church, Washington, NJ, and a choir member for many years She is survived by a son, Jay Bryan and wife, Bonnie, of Fairfax, VA, two daughters, Donna Bacon and husband, Chuck, of Centennial, CO, and Nadine Lombardo and husband, Mickey, of Nazareth, PA, one grandson, Jason Bacon, and one great-grandson . She was predeceased by two sisters, Elsie Sonntag and Gertrude Vater, two brothers, and one granddaughter, Cindy Bacon. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the DeVoe Funeral Service, Inc, 136 West Washington Ave., Washington, NJ 07882.Eastern Star Services will be held at 7PM at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. A burial will follow in St. Anthony's Cemetery, William's Twp, PA.
