Warren David Kitchell Jr
David Kitchell 92 a resident of Warren Haven passed away on April 23, 2010. He was born in Lincoln Park NJ on January 3, 1918. He was the son of the late Warren D. Kitchell Sr. and late Lucy Daneski Kitchell. His father built the community of Kitchell Lake in Newfoundland NJ.
Hr retired from Bell Telephone Laboratories where he worked on many defense and communications projects as a master intrument toolmaker. Some of these projects included the transatlanitc telephone line, the White Alice DEW Line, the Polaris submarine nd underwater photography.
He lived for many years in Whippany NJ. After moving from Whippany, he lived in West Milford NJ and Warrick NY.
He was an avid grdener, had a life-long interest in amateur archeology and had been a member of the Archaelogical Society of NJ
He is survived by a daughter Carol Kitchell Droppa and her husband Gary, a brother and sister-in-law Edward and Catherine Kitchell, a sister Ellen Planten and many nieces and nephews.
David is predeceased by his 1st wife Marilyn Dreher Kitchell, his 2nd wife Eleanor Burk Kitchell, and two sisters Lucy Storm and Valeria Decker.
Funeral services will be held Monday April 26 2010 at 7 PM in the DeVoe Funeral Service 136 West Washington Ave Washington NJ. The visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
