I had cry hearing song Bett Midler wind beneath my wings..Song makes me think of my Dad alot lately to six years Feb. 20 2019, he be gone already..Still hard hold back the tears sometimes i cry alone listen sad songs reminding me of all my Dad's memories with me. Joe and family, l am truly so sorry to hear this news about Michael.. What an awesome guy and a great local man..We would pass each other on the job and exchange "friendly" insults and then laugh and then talk shop for a minute.. His laughter was contagious! He was as genuine as any high school boy could be. Summer pool time and fun in the sun were never a dull moment with him around. No sleepover was ever uneventful and you have made memories for me that have lasted a lifetime. I am so blessed to have seen you after so many years with that same magical smile as when I left over 20 yrs ago, that smile that drew you in and made you know this friend was a friend for life no matter the time that past, or the years that melted away and made me feel and know he was part of my home....part of why I smiled so much growing up! Really sorry to hear about Mike, I grew up with him and the the gang from douglas lane back in the 80's and always enjoyed his loud, carefree laughter and jokes. He was always around with his family to see the movies playing at washington theatre. In fact, he hooked up the pluming for the water heaters in each bathroom so i could pass inspection. Words cannot express how sorry I am for your loss. Mike (and the entire Douglas Lane crew) were a huge part of my childhood, and I think of those days fondly.
Mike was big in spirit, humor and heart...never forgetting who he was or where he came from. While coaching my oldest on a losing team he praised them saying that the problem was there was just “too much talent” on the team and they just needed to get it all together!!
