Dear Leo, Alexis, Elena; The Miller Family, and JoAnne and Roger Provencal and Family: Please accept our Aloha and deest sympathy at this difficult time. I spoke with Becky just before her 1st visit with her oncology specialist. While she asked about informational and support resources, and possible treatment options, her primary concern throughout our conversation was how Leo, Alexis and Elena would be affected by her condition. I admired her courage, her selflessness, her clarity of purpose. She shared that in spite of the poor prognosis she expected to hear, she was not ready to give up...she wanted to/needed to remain optimistic for her family's sake. Becky was an exceptional person who lived life to the fullest. She had a strength of character and a deep genuine love for each of you that brought me to tears. I will always remember our talk. It's left such an indelible impression. Becky, you've given life to your family and have left a legacy of compassion, strength and wonderful memories for generations to come. Becky, Thank you for touching our hearts. We have arranged for a plant of remembrance to be delivered to the Miller and the Provencal homes. Leo, we'll visit you and the girls when you return to Hawaii and we'd like to bring an orchid plant that your love and care will continue to nurture...beautiful flowers will continue to bloom. I was so saddened to hear of Rebecca's passing. She was such a kind person and an irreplaceable addition to our school, where her sweet little girls go to school. I repeatedly saw her kindness when she would ask how my dad was during his battle with cancer and it touched me to see her genuine concern. I pray for any peace possible for her husband and little girls, as well as for her extended family.
