Obituary of Thelma Woronowicz
Thelma Woronowicz, 88, of Port Murray, died peacefully at home with relatives and friends, on Thursday, October 16, 2008. She was born February 19, 1920 in Stillwater, NJ the daughter of the late Evaline E. Savacool. Thelma was a member of Newton High School, class of 1937. She was employed, through the years, as a waitress at various establishments beginning with Cochran House, Newton, NJ followed by Howells Restaurant, Hackettstown, NJ, Hills Diner, Washington, NJ and finally at Oakwood Lanes, Washington, NJ. She, later, was employed by Snyders Bus Service as a bus driver. Thelma served as Vice President of Rural American Emergency Service, an ambulance transportation service owned by her son, Jeffrey. Thelma was an avid bowler as well as a dancer. She loved to go on senior trips with the local Senior Citizen group.
Survivors:Thelma is survived by her loving son, Jeffrey, of Port Murray, who without moms help would not have seen his dream come true, and her sister-in-law, Dorothy Sutton of Washington, NJ. Many friends will dearly miss her.
Thelma is predeceased by her husband, Richard in 1993, her daughter, Sharyn in 1954 and her brothers, George Huff, in 1998 and Stanley Huff, in 1973.
