Obituary of Dorothy Thompson

Dorothy E. Thompson, 95,formerly of Washington, NJ, died Saturday, November 29, 2008 in the Hackettstown Regional Medical Center, Hackettstown, NJ. Dorothy was born October 17, 1913 in Lowell, MA, a daughter of the late Henri and the late Florida (Charoux) Simard. Dorothy was employed in the garment industry in Washington, NJ as a sewing machine operator. Her favorite pastimes were sewing, reading playing bingo and doing crossword puzzles. She was the wife of the late Eugene S. Thompson. Survivors: Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Barbara Metzgar and her husband George of E. Dennis, MA and her son, William Scott Thompson of Fountain, NC; eleven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and three great-greatgrandchildren. Besides her husband, Eugene S Thompson, her brother, Raymond Simard and sister, Estelle Smith all died earlier. Services: Friends may call Thursday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at DeVoe Funeral Service Inc., 136 West Washington Ave, Washington, NJ. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Washington Cemetery, Washington.
