There was no way I could get up and speak tonight. Sarah, you did an amazing job with that. I have a thousand and one stories of your mother and I before you were born. There was a lot of talk tonight about her kind heart, thoughtfulness, etc. I kept thinking of the night we were at the laundrymat in town. She was doing laundry for herself and Paul. She was mad at him for something he either did or didn't do. I can't remember which one now. The only thing she could think of to do was to throw his black socks in with his whites in the hopes that the color would run. As it turned out she couldn't bring herself to do even that small piece of deviltry. She just didn't have it in her, but we had a good laugh over it. And yes, she taught us all something through her illness. Even on her really bad days she would still whisper thank you for the smallest thing someone would do, ask how someone's day went, comment on something somebody was wearing. I cannot imagine enduring the pain that she endured, and yet still giving of herself. Anne Frank said "You can always, always give something, even if it is only kindness." Your mother did that Sarah. A hundred times over. Love you Cin.

This is the Cindy I remember: Cindy was energetic and enthusiastic about her family, her job and her crafts. She loved her daughter and husband deeply, and had a tender heart for her many cats. She felt a deep sense of responsibility for her library, and especially enjoyed assisting patrons interested in local history, one of her special interests. She showed her artistic talent in the windows she decorated for the library and the many ways she decorated her home. Although her life was filled with many ups and downs, she persevered and managed to live her life "her way". She will be missed by many.

Cindy loved the work of Henry David Thoreau. Thought this quote of his was beautiful and a wonderful tribute to Cinders.
"Every blade in the field, every leaf in the forest..lays down it's life in it's season as beautifully as it was taken up".
To a life well lived, I will miss you forever Cinders. XOXO
