Obituary of Robert Jennings
Robert E. Jennings Jr., 62, of Mansfield Township, NJ, died Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at his home. He was born on December 30, 1948 in Orange, NJ. He was the son of the late Dr. and Mrs. Robert Jennings. Rob earned his Bachelor's in English from Ripon College, WI and a Bacheolor's in Industrial Arts at Keane College, NJ. Rob was a former teacher at Warren Hills High School and was the current wood shop teacher at Bloomfield High School. Prior to teaching, Rob spent over 20 years as a carpenter at AT&T. He was an avid reader and a huge Yankees fan, and he dedicated much of his time to coaching youth sports. Rob enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and loved spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his two sons: Robbie and wife Jennie Jennings of Conshohocken, PA and Ryan Jennings of Jersey City, NJ; two sisters: Anne Feeley and husband Mark of Belfast, ME and Jane Jennings of Brunswick, ME; and former bride, Ellyn Jennings of Morristown, NJ. He is predeceased by a sister, Elizabeth Roofeh. A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2011 from 3:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m. at the DeVoe Funeral Service, Inc., 136 West Washington Ave., Washington, NJ 07882. A service will follow at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Rob's memory to the Mansfield Township Little League, P.O. Box 101, Port Murray, NJ 07865.
