Obituary of David B. Bulmer
David Bruce Bulmer, 67, of Southport, NC and previously Great Meadows, NJ passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 30, 2018.
David was born on July 7, 1950 in Phillipsburg, NJ. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Howard and Nellie Bulmer. He was one of six children. He attended Warren Hills High School and graduated in 1968. He served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was awarded The Bronze Star Medal for meritorious service in a combat zone.
David was a member of the Washington Borough Vol. Fire Department; Steamer Co. #1, the Oxford Vol. Fire Department, the NJ Exempt Fireman’s Assoc., the NJ State Fireman’s Relief Assoc., life member of the VFW Post 10400 Boiling Spring Lakes, NC. He was employed by American Can Co., retiring after over 35 years. He was an avid Cleveland Browns and Indians fan. He enjoyed golfing and spending time with friends in his retirement.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Doris Bulmer of Southport, NC; son David (Melanie) of Belvidere, NJ; daughter Victoria (Chris) Farley of Phillipsburg, NJ; brothers Howard “Butch” of Washington, NJ, Donald (Peg) of Woodson, TX, Dale (Kathy) of Southport, NC; six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his father Howard, mother Nellie, brother Gerald “Jerry”, and sister Linda.
Fireman Services will be held Saturday morning March 10th 2018 at 10:45 AM followed by The Memorial Service at 11AM at DeVoe Funeral Service, 136 W. Washington Ave, Washington, NJ 07882.
