Obituary of Kenneth Snover

Kenneth E. Snover (81) of Bethlehem, PA and formerly of Washington NJ went to his Heavenly home on Saturday October 5, 2013 at St. Luke's Hospital Anderson Campus. Born in Stewartsville, NJ on October 27, 1931, he was the son of the late John and Mabel (Gunderman) Snover. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marie (DeVries), his daughter Valerie Godshalk of Bethlehem PA grandson Ryan Porter and his wife Lorree, great-granddaughters Kendall and Carly Porter also from Bethlehem, PA, his son Kenny and wife Heather of Ephrata, PA, grandson Josh Snover of Milwaukee, WI., his brother Ernest Snover of Phillipsburg, NJ and his sister Joyce Amore of Allentown, PA…..He was predeceased by his parents, brothers Karl and Stanley and his grandson Kaleb Snover. Ken was a recipient of countless humanitarian awards. He worked at Allstate Insurance for over 25 years until his retirement. He also owned and operated Esso Gas in New Village, NJ and was a master craftsman and mechanic. He spent most of his life dedicating his time to helping families in need. Throughout the year he worked hard to prepare for his Christmas program to aid needy children. He dressed up as Santa Claus for all the children of Warren County and surrounding communities for almost 50 years. He would go door to door so he could bring more than just presents. He brought hope and magic straight to their doors, His greatest joy was seeing the smile on a child's face. He was president of Central Warren Youth Association and Washington Area Jaycees. He previously served as Washington Boro's Chief of Special Police, Emergency Management Director, a member of Kiwanis and was a Washington Boro election board official. He also ran concessions and maintenance at Washington Boro Park, and held weekly Bingo games at Central Warren Youth Association and was a little league baseball coach in the 1970's. Besides all his hard work and dedication to his community he was an amazing son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He loved with his whole heart and it showed in everything and everyone he touched. He will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held on Saturday October 19 at 10 am at St. Luke's Lutheran Church 214 Route 31 North Washington, NJ 07882.
