Obituary of Nelson Trimmer
Nelson "George" Trimmer, age 72, of Washington Borough, died Sunday, September 20, 2009 at Warren Haven Nursing Home of Oxford, NJ.
George was born January 29, 1937 in Hackettstown, NJ a son of the late Raymond and the late Ruth (Poyer) Trimmer. He was the husband of the late Clela Trimmer.
He was the owner and operator of Nelson Overhead Doors, Washington, NJ for many years. George enjoyed antique car shows and watching Nascar.
George is survived by daughters, Carol Bell and her husband Richard of Buschkill, PA, Cindy Trimmer of Washington, NJ, Wendy Trimmer and her fiance Mark Erdie of Belvidere, NJ; two sons, Randal Hampton and his wife Harriett of Mt. Bethel, PA, Nelson, Jr. and his wife Josette of Washington, NJ; two sister, Ruth Bloom and Lorene Palmer and her husband Wayne all of Oxford, NJ; five brothers, Charles and his wife Hope and Joseph and his wife Alma all of Washington, NJ, Alfred and his wife Vicki of FL, Clarence Trimmer of Kunkultown, Pa, Eugene and his wife Rose of Flanders, NJ; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, George is predeceased by his brother Raymond "Dickie" Trimmer.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 24 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at DeVoe Funeral Service Inc., 136 W. Washington Ave, Washington, NJ. A funeral service will follow at 8:00 pm at the funeral home. The cremation will be private. At a date to be announced, a burial of cremains will take place at Union Cemetery, Hackettstown, NJ.
