Obituary of Mary A Fernandes

Mary A. Fernandes, 85, passed away peacefully at home on March 30, 2018.  

She was born on April 3, 1932 to the late Anibal and Maria (Alves) Fernandes in New Rochelle, NY.  

Mary was a caregiver to others for her whole life.  She graduated St. Mary’s Roman Catholic High School as Valedictorian.  She spent her life in service of our Lord.  She was a dedicated volunteer at St. Rose Roman Catholic Church in Oxford, NJ.  

She is survived by her brothers Anthony of Oxford, NJ, Manuel of Cranford, NJ, David of Neptune, NJ; her sister Sister Jacinta of Lutherville, MD; and many nieces and nephews.  She was pre-deceased by five brothers and three sisters.  

Viewing will be Tuesday April 3, 2018 at 10-11:30am at the DeVoe Funeral Service 136 W. Washington Ave. Washington, NJ 07882.  Mass of Christian burial will follow at the St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church Academy Street Oxford, NJ at 12:00 noon.  Cremation will be private followed by inurnment at the Mt. Olivet Roman Catholic Cemetery in Newark, NJ.
