Obituary of Myrtle Jelliffe-Kicinski
Myrtle Jellife-Kicinski of Washington, NJ, died peacefully at home on October 18, 2016.
Myrtle was born on July 18, 1925 to the late Otto and Hattie (Roch) Michaelis in Manhattan, NY. She graduated from Scotch Plains High School. As a loving mother and devoted farmer's wife, she had few jobs in her lifetime, the last of which was a bus driver for Abilities of Northwest New Jersey in Washington. She was always giving of herself, by being a Sunday school teacher and helping with 4-H projects.
Myrtle collected donations for Deborah Heart and Lung Hospital and for the "Reach for Recovery" program of the American Cancer Society.
Her hobbies consisted of restoring and collecting antiques and dolls. She was Past President of the Washington Doll Club. She was also a member of the Presbyterian Chapel of Hampton and the United Methodist Church of Summerfield, NJ.
Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband William "Taylor" Jelliffe, Jr. and her second husband Al Kicinski.
Myrtle is survived by her sons William Taylor Jelliffe III and his wife Cindy of Asbury, NJ and Karl “Jake” Jelliffe and his wife Debra of Washington, NJ; daughters Linda Schomp and husband Robert of Lebanon, NJ, Nancy Bilyk and her husband Jacob of Belvidere, NJ and Dorcas “Chick” Parr and her husband Gary of Oxford, NJ; grandchildren Bob, Bill, Lisa, Nikole, Jenny, Jacob Jr., Katie, Jacob, Kari, Jamie, Megan, Justine.; great-grandchildren Aubrey, Will, Cory, Holly, Brandy, Jasa, Ryder, Jacob, Timothy, Carolyn, Alex, Aaron, Dalton, Brent, Nora, and Owen; great-great grandchildren Natalee, Ethan, and Raelyn. She was also predeceased and sadly missed a loving granddaughter Bonnie Lee, who inspired Myrtle’s service to the Deborah Heart and Lung Hospital.
A viewing will be held Monday, October 24, 2016 from 12-2:00 pm at the DeVoe Funeral Service 136 W. Washington Ave. Washington, NJ 07882. A funeral service will be held following at 2:00 pm also at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Musconetcong Valley Cemetery in Hampton, NJ.
