Obituary of Kenneth G Babey

Kenneth G. Babey 82 of Phillipsburg NJ, formerly of Branchburg Twp NJ, died on Friday August 9, 2017 in the Lopatcong Care Center, Lopatcong Twp. NJ.

He was born in Somerville NJ, June 17, 1937. He was the son of the late Thomas and Angelina DiPaolo Babey.

He served in the US Army from 1957 -1959.

Ken was a building contractor for many years with Kenbert Associates. Following that he was an employee of Active Disposal. He retired several years ago.

Ken was a 50+ year member of the Readington Twp. Volunteer Fire Company.

He loved old cars and collected stationary gas engines. In his younger days he raced stock cars.

He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Raritan, NJ. 

His loving wife Judith (Buck) Babey preceded him in death in 2011. He was also preceded in death by his beloved son Kevin Babey in 2009.

Surviving Ken is his daughter Susan Babey and her husband Terry Schell of Santa Monica CA, a brother Dennis Babey of Delaware and a granddaughter Kate Schell in Santa Monica CA. A brother, John Babey, also preceded him in death.

Visitation will be Friday August 16, 2019 from 2-3pm followed by a funeral service at 3pm in the DeVoe Funueral Service 136 West Washington Ave, Washington NJ 07882
