Obituary of Josephine Funaro

Josephine Funaro 90, of Hope Twp. NJ died at the Forest Manor Nursing Home on Saturday September 8th.

She was born in N.Y. N.Y. December 18, 1927. She was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Mary Piraino Salamone.

She was a Matron for the Varsity School Bus Company in Queens NY before retiring several years ago.

for many years she and her husband were "Snowbirds" spending winters in Florida and returning home to N.J. just before Mothers Day

She had been a member of the Italian American Club in Deerfield Beach Florida. She belonged the The Warren County Seniors Lunch group.

Josephine was a member of St Patricks Catholic Church in Belvidere NJ.

Her husband Anthony preceded her in death in 2007.

Surviving her is a daughter Marie Peters and her husband John of White Twp. NJ, a sister Marie and her husband Nicholas Marinaccio of Holbrook NY, two grandchildren Matthew and his wife Jennifer Peters, Michele and her husband Joseph Massari. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ann DeFilippo and Fran Salamone.

Visitation will be Wednesday September 12 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM and 9:30 -10:30 AM on Thursday in the DeVoe Funeral Service 136 West Washington Ave Washington NJ,  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday September 14th at 11AM in St Patrick’s Catholic Church in Belvidere NJ followed by a burial in the Parish Cemetery.
