Obituary of Francis Julia

Francis Thomas Julia, Sr., 87, of Washington Township, NJ, died Sunday, March 15, 2009 in the St. Luke's Hospice, Bethlehem, PA. Francis was born March 18, 1921 in Brooklyn, NY, the son of the late Thomas and the late Nellie (Spinelle) Julia. He proudly served during World War II in the Army from 1942 to 1945. He was the husband of the late Carmella Sapio who passed away in 1989. He was employed by the Journal of Commerce, Phillipsburg, NJ in the Personnel and Credit Collection Department. Francis was a member of Knights of Columbus, Bellmore Council, Long Island, NY and the American Legion - John Dolak Post #446, as well as a lifetime member of the VFW. He was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Washington, NJ. Survivors:Francis is survived by one daughter: Margaret Blanche and her husband Robert, Jr.; two sons: James and his wife D.Ann and Francis and his wife Bonnie; two sisters, Victoria and Rose Marie; two sisters-in-law, Carol and Elena and two grandchildren, Rebecca Anne and Robert. Services: Friends may call Wednesday from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 7:00 – 9:00 pm and Thursday from 9:00 - 10:30 am at DeVoe Funeral Service Inc., 136 West Washington Ave, Washington, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 11:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Washington, 200 Carlton Ave, Washington. Interment will be Thursday at 12:00 in St Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Washington.
