Obituary of Edith McDonnell

Edith McDonnell, age 86, of Hampton NJ died Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Rolling Hills Nursing Home in Clinton Township, NJ. Edith was born September 22, 1932 in Somerville, NJ., raised in Cokesbury, and she was a 1951 graduate of High Bridge High School.

Edith is the daughter of the late Alexander and the late Anna (Lundstedt) Westman.  

She served in the Air Force during the Korean war. She was employed by Exact Level and Tool as an Assembler for many years. Her favorite pastime was knitting and crocheting, and she loved to donate her creations to local nursing homes.

Edith is survived by her five children; sons, Richard Mark McDonnell Jr, Alex McDonnell, and Michael McDonnell and his wife Jennifer; as well as her daughters Kathy McDonnell and her life partner Pat Payette, Karen McDonnell, and daughter in law Viginia McDonnell. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren Melissa, Ryan, and Julia. Edith is also survived by her special niece, Susan Jacqumein. Edith was soon to be a great grandmother and was excited with the news.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 6 at DeVoe Funeral Service, 136 West Washington Avenue, Washington, NJ. Burial will follow in Musconetcong Valley Cemetery, Hampton NJ.

Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, March 5 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM and Wednesday, March 6 from 10:30 to 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
