Obituary of Mary Re
Mary Frances Angela Re, 63 of Washington NJ died Friday August 22, 2014 at Compassionate Care Hospice in St Clare's Hospital, Dover NJ, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in the Bronx, NY October 9, 1950 to Joseph and Lena Fazio Re Sr.
After graduating Phillipsburg Catholic High School in 1968, she went on to get a degree in Nursing from Northeastern Hospital School on Nursing in Philadelphia. Her first nursing job was at the Hagedorn Geriatric Center in Glen Gardner. Mary had also worked at the Hunterdon State School and Warren Haven Nursing Home. Her most enjoyable nursing job was at the Princeton House in Princeton, N.J. She was last employed by Clover Rest Home in Columbia, NJ.
Mary enjoyed traveling and seeing the world, she traveled to such places as Peru, the Galapagos Islands, Italy, Spain and especially enjoyed the vacation with family in Hawaii. Mary lived most of her life in Washington. For a brief time resided in Hillsborough NJ, an then returned to Washington to take care of her beloved Aunt Rose and then eventually her mother.
She was a lifetime member of St Joseph's Catholic Church in Washington, NJ.
Surviving is her loving mother, Lena Re of Washington NJ, a brother Joseph Re and his wife Debbie of Forks Township PA., a nephew Jared Re, cousins, and many close friends and neighbors who kindly supported and helped her throughout her illness. She was predeceased by her father Joseph Re Sr.
Her visitation will be Monday, August 25 from 5-8 PM and Tuesday August 26 from 10:15am in the DeVoe Funeral Service, 136 West Washington Ave Washington, NJ 07882. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11:30 AM in St Josephs Roman Catholic Church 200 West Carlton Ave Washington, NJ 07882 with Fr. Blaise Baran officiating. Interment to follow in the St Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Jackson Valley Road in Washington NJ.
