Obituary of Gertrude Farley
Gertrude E. Farley, 72 of Broadway, NJ passed away April 29, 2013 at St. Luke's Hospital in Phillipsburg, NJ . She was born on September 13, 1940 in Phillipsburg, NJ, and was the daughter of the late Edward and Hazel (Hineline) Burham.
She was a teacher's assistant for 26 years at the Hunterdon Developmental Center, Clinton, NJ. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Stewart Chapter #166, High Bridge, NJ. Gertrude enjoyed rides in the mountains, looking for wildlife, crossword puzzles, playing on computer and watching her game shows.
She is survived by her two sons, Christopher Farley and his wife Vickie of Phillipsburg, NJ and Raymond Farley IV and his wife Debbie of Easton, PA, a daughter Irene Brownell and her husband John of Broadway, NJ, a sister Jane Woolf of Washington, NJ. She is also survived by her companion Charles Kornberger of Broadway, NJ. She is survived by seven grandchildren, John Jr., Amanda, Raymond V, Corissa, Tori, Christopher Jr. and Andrew and four great grandchildren, Ty,Troy, Trent and Travis. She was predeased by a son Edward Farley and siblings Herbert Burham and Janet Hammerstone and a grandson, Jason Brownell.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, at DeVoe Funeral Service, Inc., 136 West Washington Ave, Washington, NJ 07882. The funeral service will be held Monday, May 6, 2013 at 11a.m. Burial will follow services at the Musconetcong Valley Cemetery, Hampton, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Franklin Twp Rescue Squad, PO Box 224, Broadway, NJ 08808. The DeVoe Funeral Service, has been entrusted with her arrangements.
