Obituary of S. Sawran
S. Ann Sawran, 87, a long time resident of Plantation, died after a long and brave struggle with heart disease. Ann was born in Hampton, New Jersey on May 15, 1921, and was married to Nicholas James Sawran, who served with honor in World War II. Ann and Nicholas had three sons, Richard, Thomas and James. Richard was a U.S. Army Warrant Officer who served as a helicopter pilot in Vietnam and gave his life for his country in 1969. Ann had a long and successful 25 year career in the banking industry in New Jersey, retiring as a Vice-President with First Union Bank. She then worked for almost twenty years in the accounting department with the law firm of McIntosh, Sawran, Peltz, & Cartaya, P.A. which she enjoyed greatly. She also worked as a volunteer for Deborah Hospital and for the Plantation Library, and was a proud member of St. Gregory's Church and the Elks Club. Ann is survived by her two sons, Thomas and James. Tom resides in Foxboro, MA, and has given Ann two wonderful grandchildren, Nicole and Patrick. James lives in Fort Lauderdale with his wife, Shari, and their two adopted greyhounds, Macy and Gabriel, who Ann loved as well. She will be dearly missed by all of her family, friends and co-workers.
