My dearest Nan....my feisty Irish Nan...under 5 feet tall yet you have been the pillar of the family...fond memories of you and Pop at the store...staying overnight and having ice cream floats.
As I got older, my son’s first dessert from Nanny was the famous Pineapple Cream Pie...Or the selection of about 20 varieties of ice cream...and toppings of course....or the day Dad helped you move and you had 50 pounds of sugar and when asked why, you calmly responded ‘cause you never know.
When Dad passed you calmly say with me, holding your beautiful Irish linen hankie in one hand and a tissue in the other. You explained to me one was for show and the other for blow...always a lady regardless of circumstance.
You will forever be in my heart and I know I have at least some of your fire in my soul. Love you forever dear Nan.
