steve's bethrothal to my aunt betty brought a lot of excitement into the lives of the stratford women (- and a lot of entertainment into his!) i fondly recall a lot of stratford gals loading up into my mother's car and driving to ledgewood (also known as succassunna) to shop for my aunt's wedding gown... his rites of initiation into our inimitable 'household' included a memorable wedding reception in the fancy basement of what was then my uncle albie and aunt joannie's house on youman's avenue. i am sure my grandmother was wearing one of her huge floppy hats. there were lots of tears of joy in such a loving welcome. and now tears of sorrow. i am thinking of you, duff! hope you are well. lots of love...........

I have some many memories of Steve. Thanksgiving at my house , him and Helen sneaking beers, he would spot all kinds of birds as we drove the highways,he Always was fun, kind, considerate and generous. I will always remember our Vermont trips and especially his songs. Going to my moms and then off to Albies where a good time would be had by all andSteve contributing to all the fun and joy.his wonderful sense of humor is imbedded in my heart, my heart also hears his big belly laughs. Like Jessie, I have nothing but great memories and I will always love him.

Steve you were a great friend and one of the nicest guys I knew. Always gentle kind. You loved to laugh, sing songs, go fishing (even casting a pretend line while riding in my car, as we passed rivers & lakes). We went swimming and climbed the buttonball tree, to swing off the rope into the Musconectcong River behind your house. Remember Mrs. Seeley, your bus driver letting you off the bus a mile before your house and telling you your pants were to tight and you needed some exercise. (of course that really wasn't the reason, but your pants were to tight) We had a lot of good memeories, but slowly you were robbed of yours and came to rely on others to take care of you. Your now free of a body and mind that no longer functioned well. Rest in Peace my friend and I hope we'll meet again someday....
