Marie has been a dedicated member of the Washington Woman's Club since 1969. She has held many offices including being President three time. She was very active in fundraising and giving back to the community. She was a friend to many and always willing to give advice from her personal knowledge of club affairs. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by those who knew her. Rest in peace Marie and know you are loved.

Obviously the passing of mom caught us all off guard. Mom fought a good fight but it was certainly time for her to go to her Heavenly home. She missed dad and her health was taking a toll on her. Knowing she is in Heaven and reunited with her friends and family is so comforting. I am certainly proud to be the son of Ken and Marie. They tought me so much and I hope they are smiling down on us all. I definitely miss them but knowing they are walking the streets of gold with Kaleb. Thanks for my 54 years and I hope I do you proud. Love Kenny.

Marie was a very dear friend, dating to when we moved to Washington in 1967. Both Marie and Ken have left a legacy of kindness and caring, not only to their family, but to friends as well. That legacy will live on in the joy they brought to so many in the community.
Always, Ann and Bob

I knew On October 4th that October 5th was going to be a hard day since it was the 1yr anniversary of my father's death, what I have felt since then, was the saddest day of my life. I never imagined my mother would die the same day, same hour, exactly 1yr later. Now my sadness is beyond belief, but the way it all happened, I know my dad came back for her, because he knew how lost she was without him and he was lost without her.I know how much he loved her because even tho he had Alzheimers, he asked all day, every day where his wife was and wanted to make sure she was okay. Mom didnt have a good year, especially after the hip replacement. Aside from missing him, she didn't get around very well. Being without my parents is an undescribable pain that I know wont go away until I am with them again. They both gave love unconditionally and now God has given them back their love for each other. They were loving parents who gave me a good life.
Lorree, Kendall, Carly and myself helped all we could, but I want to thank my son Ryan, for giving up his life to take care of my parents for so long and showing them that the love they showed him was cherished and given back. He did the really hard part. I love you Ryan, and thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Thank you, God, for allowing me to spend 80yrs with two wonderful, loving parents.

I miss you Gram. You were the toughest most ornery 5 foot 80 pound woman i ever knew. I wish we would have had more time but I will always cherish what we did have. I love you and am so grateful I got to be apart of this family.

I hope this story helps all who are grieving for this truly unique lady.
On Friday October 3rd, 2014 Ryan was outside getting ready to walk the dog when he looked up and saw a large white bird flying over the house he told me he was so amazed at its size that he ran around to try to follow it but he lost site of it. After he told me we looked up pictures of birds and the only two that fit the description he gave was a crane or a heron. I looked up the spiritual meaning of seeing either bird in flight and what i found out is both birds are solar birds in many religious contexts meaning bringers of light or they who can touch the heaven. I also read that seeing either bird in flight is a message saying look to the heavens and trust in god. it said to have faith in gods plan. that seeing this bird meant change was coming and to not be afraid. i told ry to remember seeing the bird.
On Saturday October 4th, 2014 in the evening gram came to us and said she was having a problem in her room and wanted to know if we could fix it. we followed her and checked her tv thinking that was what she meant but it was fine. she said no not the tv that right there pointing towards the window that. what does that mean CS2. she repeated the letters and number a few times but we didnt understand. we couldn't see anything. we said goodnight and she didn't mention it again.
On Sunday October 5th, 2014 I woke up around 9 and went upstairs. Gram was already up making a peanutbutter sandwich ,which she always did every day since pop got sick. I always thought once he passed she would stop making them since she was making them for him. instead after he passed she started eatting them in his place. maybe it made her feel close to him i don't know. she didn't talk about him much. i think it hurt to bad. anyway she said goodmorning and so did i. so glad i did cause some days when you get up on the wrong side of the bed you don't. we talked a moment and then went about our business. a few minutes later we were rushing to the hospital. when we got transfered to icu we got lost and had to look for signs where to go. the sign that said icu right above it was coded CS2.
Gram passed that night peacefully in our arms the same day same hour that we lost pop one year earlier. we truly believe he came back to take her home. so although we are all grieving know that they had that kind of love that even death couldn't keep apart for long. now they are both with god and will be watching over us all once again together.

Mrs.Clause-a better description could not be given .For someone to have been at Ken's side all those years, putting up with the festivities all year long trying to help the needy in Warren County.Having "Santa" fall through her ceiling and having the entire house consumed by Christmas Santa's.She may have had a way about her,but to have stood by him with all his endeavors including being the Civil Defense Director.Wow,takes a special woman to be that special of a wife. THANKS for that Marie, and also for your special children Ken & Val.
