Obituary of John Pavlina
John Pavlina, 93 of Oxford NJ went to be the Lord, his Savior Jesus Christ on June 2nd 2013.
He was born July 4, 1919 in a house in Oxford NJ where he resided for 93 years. He was the son of the late Charles and Julia Panonitcz Pavliva.
He attended Hackettstown High School and graduated in 1937. He served in the US Army from June 27, 1941until October 26, 1945.
He worked at Celanese Corporation of America at Belvidere NJ for 32 years. 26 of those years as a Instrument Maintenance Technician.
John and his late wife Doris were married 69 loving year. John loved to sing and play his guitar. He played in numerous Country and Western Bands, including the DJ's anf Skunk Hollow Boys. He was a loving Husband, father, and friend who believed in the Lord.He also preformed in many minstrels shows back in the day.
He was a member of St Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Oxford NJ
John is survived by his daughter Darlene Burd and her husband Robert of Oxford NJ, A great Niece Michelle Koch of Pennsburg PA whom he helped raise and considered a daughter. and many nieces and nephews and many great and great-great nieces and nephews
He is predeceased by his loving wife Doris (nee) Dalrymple Pavlina, 3 sisters Mary Petersack, Julia May and Sofie Jerinko
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday June 6th at 10AM in the St Rose of Lima Church Academy Street, Oxford NJ. Family and friends may call on Wednesday evening from 6-8PM and again Thursday from 8:45-9:30 AM in the DeVoe Funeral Service 136 West Washington Ave Washington NJ 07882
