I was shaken to read of Steve’s passing. While it’s been decades, I remember Steve as an intensely funny guy who found it easy to make Patt laugh. Back then he brandished a handlebar moustache and blue I think tinted glasses. His pad and pencil were always at the ready for when the absurd begged to be born again as a parody or a poem. Clearly he was inspired by Patt and blessed with Piper. What a loss, he was taken way too soon. I send Patt and Piper an outpouring of love from my aching heart to theirs. Awash with tears, Haven

I am so blessed that I have had the opportunity to know such a neat man, witty, creative, animal lover, author all which follow being a wonderful devoted husband and father. Knowing that Ma and Pa Keely were my Aimee's 2nd parents/extended family is an honor, and maybe a challenge at times.. There would be tremendous void in our lives if we had not known and loved you. It is with such a heavy heart and great sorrow to say goodbye to “Pa” Keely. As Piper and I have been Best Friends for well over half of our lives her parents have become my extended family and they have become my parents too. I have and will continue to have wonderful memories and you will live on in those. Thank you for the stories and knowledge you shared and the amazing poetry.
