Obituary of Anthony C Ferri
Anthony "Tony" C. Ferri, of Franklin Township, Warren County, NJ, passed away on April 16, 2020. Born on May 2, 1928, he was the son of Bessie (Coniglio) and Charles Ferri.
Tony worked as an appliance technician for Alpha Joe's Appliances in Alpha, NJ, for many years. He was a "jack-of-all-trades" and master of many. In his spare time and upon his retirement, he could be found tinkering in his shed, or out helping someone in need of a home repair. The only payment he would accept for his generosity of service would be a hearty meal and the beverage of his choice.
Having never had children of his own, Tony's nieces and nephews became his kids. Tony was a beloved uncle and Godfather, and like a second Dad to some. His amiable personality and quick wit endeared him to many others who would also call him "Uncle Tony".
As a devout Catholic and prior to his illness, Tony could regularly be found at Saturday night mass at St. Philip and St. James Church in Phillipsburg. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean War.
In addition to his parents, Tony was predeceased by his brothers, John Mannino and Sante Ferri, a sister, Fannie Santini, and a nephew, Dominick Santini. He is survived by his brother, Joseph Ferri, of Phillipsburg, NJ, and many nieces, nephews, and Godchildren.
Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, a Mass and memorial service will be held at a future date. Knoll-Devoe Funeral Services, Washington, NJ, are handling the arrangements. Donations in memoriam can be made to your local emergency squad. To send words of condolence please visit www.knolldevoefh.com
