Rose Jean (Smith) Kinney, age 82, of Franklin Township, New Jersey, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2020, at home. Rose was born on November 28, 1937, in Harmony, New Jersey. She was the daughter of the late John Smith and Edith Walters.
In 1957 Rose graduated from Belvidere High School. Rose married her adoring husband, Frederic W. Kinney Sr., on May 30, 1968. She worked for American Can for over 45 years in their quality control department.
In Rose's free time, she enjoyed her beloved kitty cats. She was an avid gardener. Rose was a collector of dolls, Santa Clauses, and trains.
Rose will be missed dearly by her husband, Frederic W. Kinney Sr.; step-children, Frederic W. Kinney Jr., Herbert Kinney, Barbara Kinney-Kichline; step-grandchildren, Charles F. Kinney, Kaitlyn Kinney, Kori Kinney; nieces, Debra Hann, Dawn Katz, Cheryl Christopher, Heather Houston; nephew, Natali Leggio Jr.; step-great-grandchildren, Seth, Rori, Jaden, and Lukas.
Rose is predeceased by her parents, John Smith and Edith Walters; sisters, Freda Skala, Pearl Leggio, Ethel Pierce, Marion Cole; brother, Alvin (Bub) Walters; niece, Marilyn Sutton.
Services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rose's name may be made to the ASPCA.
