Dear Kelly, Joe and Sam,
Chris, Robbie, Larry and I are just devastated to hear the news of Jake's passing. He was a great kid who was turning into a great man. Rob would tell us about him when he occasionally run into and talk to Jake when we was with friends in the Washington area. Although it has been a while, I will never forget that wonderful little boy that I would see when our family's would do things together. They were wonderful times and days I will always cherish and remember.
No words could ever ease your pain, but please know that our families hearts and prayers are going out to all of you. We are here if you should need anything. God bless you guys.

Dear Kelly, Joe and Family,
Words can not express how sorry I am for your entire family. Jake was one of my film students in high school and a very good friend to my son, Collin. He was always such an amazing kid and a pleasure to have in my class. There wasn't a single day when he wasn't smiling. Unfortunately, I too lost my own son a year and a half ago, and I know how difficult of a journey this is going to be for you all. Know that I am here for you if you ever want to talk. You have been in my thoughts and prayers since the day that I heard about Jake and I will continue to pray for your strength to eventually begin your journey moving forward from your tragic and unfortunate loss. My condolences to you all. Thinking of you.
With Love,
Rich Patricia

Jake was more than just my neighbor.. he was like a brother to me growing up. We shared so many fun moments together, that I will carry in my heart forever. One of my favorite photos of us together is when you were wearing footie pajamas (lol) and I tried putting butterfly clips in your hair. That memory brings a huge smile to my face.. and you always had that effect on people, bringing light to their day when you least expected it. That's what you gave to me, time and again, as we grew older. Moments in my day of nothing but pure joy and gentleness. Jake would always beat me to the punch at saying a simple, "Hi, Ashley!" any time he saw me visiting home, and without fail, I couldn't help but let out a little chuckle every single time before replying, because of the genuine excitement that he radiated. These small moments are ones that I will always treasure. Jake was a kind soul that offered the world nothing short of warmth and vibrance. I find comfort knowing that I will feel Jake in the warmth of the sun on a summer day, see him in the tides of the ocean rolling in and out along the Jersey Shore, and in the purple hues of a magical sunset. Jake, you will always be loved and missed. Kelly, Joe, and Sam, I am here to support you.
With Love,

Jake was like a son to me and a brother to my kids. Growing up next door to us always playing in my yard, going over each other’s houses, dressing up like super heroes, and just being boys. There are so many great memories that will be with us forever. Words can not express our love for you and your family. He was smart, handsome, funny and the kindest person you could find. I love our talks over the fence and on my porch even when you would tease me. You couldn’t help but have a smile on your face while being with Jake. You will be forever be in our hearts and always a super hero to us!
Kelly, Joe and Sam we are here for you every step of the way.

We extend our deepest sympathies to the Irwin/Shelton Family during your time of loss.
We loved Jake like family and he loved us back. He was one child that was allowed to "mess with M/M Wilson" and get away with it. He loved to joke with us over the years but was always respectful. His caring nature, focus on education, love for his family and friends, protective manner, respectful nature and happy attitude speak volumes about both of his parents.
We are forever grateful that Jake was a steadfast friend to Xaviera, Avante and Cheyenne alike. There are so many treasured memories from school projects, dinners, movies, manhunt, moments of care and concern and so forth that involved Jake. We will never forget Jake's smile, jokes, never being too busy to speak, sharing updates, asking how we (adults) were doing and leaving us with a profound statement or comment.
Jake was one of Xie's first friends at Taylor Street and that friendship remained until God called him Home. Xie has these words: "Jake, I'll always remember being science partners from elementary to middle school. The funniest memory I have of us was working on our 6th grade science fair project, we turned an egg into a bouncy ball and made one glow in the dark. Later that day, I was cutting watermelon and ending up taking a gash out of my thumb. Your parents were freaking out, while I assured them I was fine. I looked over at you to see your reaction and you were laughing hysterically. Through your tears of laughter, you told me that cutting my thumb was definitely something I would end up doing at your house. One of us ended up getting hurt often around each other as we always had a good time together.
We remained study buddies for science over the years as you were the only one who liked it as much as me. You helped motivate with Chemistry and Math in college. I hope you know how much you meant to me not just as my study partner but also as my longtime friend. While I’m very sad that you are no longer here on Earth, I'm happy knowing that I will see you again in Heaven."
Avante says: "Jake, some of my best memories are our bowling matches, outings with Darryl and Kadie to Buffalo Wild Wings and the many long nights of manhunt in the summers when we were younger. Thank you for looking out for me like a big brother and encouraging me to reach my full potential no matter what I was doing. Your presence in my life will be missed and never forgotten."
Joe and Kelly, thank you for sharing Jake with our family. Jake will be sorely missed as he left an immense impression on us. We pray in time that peace and healing will come to your family.
With love and prayers,
The Xavier (Tauneah) Wilson Family

Such terribly sad and tragic news. Words pale.
Jake was a student in my Materials Science class in Spring 2019. Jake's desire to learn was ever-present! Jake would frequently stay after class to discuss and expand on key concepts - always wanting to know more.
He was also a kind, thoughtful, and reflective soul.
Jake will be greatly missed.

So sad to hear I will not see him anymore...
He was a great student and a very kind soul, and I had the opportunity to work with him in three of my classes that he aced.
We also worked together on his Capstone Project "The Perfect Shot!" where he made a device to improve strikes at bowling. He loved bowling and was very passionate about it. Working with him on his project was very enjoyable: he was funny, passionate and clever. I learned so much about bowling thanks to his passion and those memories will always stay with me...
A loving hug to his family for this incredible loss.

This is my favorite picture with my son, Jake. It was taken right after he graduated from Raritan Valley Community College. My pumpkin as I called him was so smart. He graduated Magna Cum Laude and then transferred to Rutgers University to continue his education to become a civil engineer. Jake was kind and funny. Even at 22, he would come into my room at night and give me a kiss good night on my head. I will miss those kisses more than anything. I love him so much. Jake was taken from us far too soon.
