Obituary of Donald Oakes

Donald Oakes, 93, of Washington, NJ, passed away on May 12, 2021. Donald was born on July 22, 1927. He was predeceased by his wife Yvonne Oakes, and his parents Edgar and Ella Oakes.

Surviving is his son Donald Lee Oakes and his spouse Jackie, daughters Susan Oakes Boslet, and Alice Heinrich and her spouse Bill. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Donald worked at the phone company of Clinton NJ for over 40 years, where he was a phone technician and the hardest working employee they had seen. He was a member and served at the United Methodist Church of Washington for over 60 years.  He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He was the pillar of the family and also the comedian. He was making us laugh until his last breath, he will be greatly missed.

Private services will be held graveside at Musconetcong Valley Cemetery in Hampton. Donations may be made in remembrance of Donald to the United Methodist Church of Washington, 116 East Washington Ave, Washington NJ 07882.
