Obituary of Rev. Harrison Tilley

Rev. Harrison Tilley, 91, of Phillipsburg, NJ passed peacefully on Monday, May 24, 2021 at the Phillipsburg Center.  Born in Caswell, ME, he was the son of the late Harrison B and Elsie Howland Tilley.  Harrison was the husband of Elsie Castner Tilley with whom he shared over sixty years of marriage until her passing in 2016.  An Assemblies of God minister, he founded two churches over the course of his ministry that thrive today in Swedesboro, NJ and in Brodheadsville, PA.  

Harrison will be fondly remembered and well missed by daughter Ruth Ann Meckes, daughter Bonnie L. Kresge and her husband David, and son Harrison David Tilley and his companion Tammy Cole; beloved grandchildren, Michael, Nathan, Jesse, Samantha, Cheyenne, and Destiny as well as six great grandchildren.

Rev. Tilley’s family will receive friends and relatives, on Friday, May 28, 2021 from 10:00 am until the service begins at 11:00 am at Faith Discovery Church, 33 Brass Castle Rd., Washington, NJ 07882. Interment will directly follow the service at Pequest Union Cemetery, 36 Cemetery Rd., Great Meadows, NJ.  Arrangements are under the care of Knoll-DeVoe Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 142 West Washington Avenue, Washington NJ 07882.
