Obituary of Carole A. Knutson

Carole Anne (Neumann) Knutson of Washington New Jersey, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, June 3, 2021, at the age of 77. Born in New Brunswick, NJ on April 23, 1944, raised in Bonhamtown, NJ; Carole was the daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine Neumann.

Carole was a member of Metuchen High School’s Class of 1962. She later moved to her last residence in Washington NJ. The place that she called home, was her sanctuary for the last fifty years of her life. That Victorian house of hers, was a testament of her hard work and independence. Carole retired from Hunterdon Development Center’s culinary services in June of 2012. She was extremely proud of the team she worked with in Cottage-18 and those people she served.

Carole absolutely loved gardening, antiquing, her Victorian home, and most importantly spending time with her family and her closest of friends. Carole will be forever known for her “no-nonsense” approach in life while balancing it with love for those she cared for the most.

Carole is survived by her daughters Darlene Thibeadeau of Houston, TX; and Kelly Taylor & husband Mike of Largo, FL; her sons Jason of Washington, NJ; and Sam & wife Suzanne of Washington, NJ; her grandchildren Jonathan & Kendall; Jessica, Nick, & Alyssa; Tiara; Timmy & Brianna; great grandchildren Gage, Jack & Scarlett; Benjamin; her brothers Joseph Neumann of Florida, Gary Neumann & wife Madeline of Bonhamtown, NJ; nephew Mark Neumann; and nieces Amanda Neumann & Madeline Neumann. Carole is predeceased by her beloved sons Christopher and Jonathin; and her parents Joseph and Josephine.

Services will be held on Saturday June 19, 2021, at 11:00 am at Faith Discovery Church, 33 Brass Castle Rd., Washington, NJ 07882. A celebration of life will follow the services at the Fellowship Hall.

In lieu of flowers, we will be accepting donations that will go directly toward the adoption of a tree in her name at the Karen Nash Memorial Butterfly Garden.
