Obituary of Shirley Heiser Burdge

Shirley May (nee Heiser) Burdge, age 97 of Dunedin, FL, passed away Thursday, December 16, 2021. Shirley was born April 8, 1924 at Easton Hospital in Easton, PA, to Arthur Charles Heiser and Edna Beatrice (nee Petit) Heiser.  

Shirley was a 1942 graduate of Hackettstown High School, located in Hackettstown, NJ.  She married her beloved husband, Walter Burdge, on February 6, 1943.  Together they raised 3 sons; Alan, Walter, and David, whom she adored.  She had 5 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, whom she took great joy in.

Shirley had worked as a legal secretary.  She was a member of the Women's Auxiliary in Washington Township.  Shirley enjoyed doing a good crossword puzzle in her free time, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.

Shirley will be forever missed by her sons, Alan Burdge and his wife Patricia of Mt. Juliet, TN, Walter Burdge and his wife Alana of Bayville, NJ, and David Burdge and his wife Gwen of Washington, NJ; 5 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

Shirley is predeceased by her beloved husband, Walter Burdge; brother, Arthur Heist; and parents, Edna and Arthur Heiser.

All services will be held privately by the family. Interment will take place at the Pequest Union Cemetery.
