Obituary of Jose N. Bonilla
José Narciso Bonilla, age 82, formally of The Bronx, NY, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2022 in Oxford, NJ surrounded by his family and loved ones. Born January 15, 1940 in Lislique, La Union, El Salvador, José was the son of the late José Ezequiel Bonilla and the late Maria Bonifacia Bonilla.
On August 28, 1971, José married the love of his life, Janneth Yolanda Velásquez. Together they raised a big beautiful family, having six children; Ana, Sara, Juana, Yanet, Dina, and José. José was a 1988 graduate of the Colegio Superior de Comercio in San Miguel, El Salvador. His passion and love for his religion led him to founding the Iglesia Evangelica Pentecostal Fuente de Agua Viva in El Salvador, where he worked as a pastor for about fifty years. His family and church were his heart that he committed his life to. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and pastor.
José will be forever missed by his beloved, Janneth Yolanda Velásquez; daughters, Ana Elizabeth and her husband Antonio Delacruz, Sara Nohemi, Juana Maria and her husband Néstor Rivas, Yanet Yolanda and her husband Marlon Alvarado, and Dina Esther and her husband Carlos Belen; son, José Narciso and his wife Melissa; grandchildren, Alfredo Bonilla, Elisa Navarro, Mario Antonio, Jocelyn Alvarado, Matthew and Natalie Rivas, Katherine and Emely Bonilla, Sarai and Carlos José Belen; and his three sisters, nephews, and nieces.
José is predeceased by his parents, Maria Bonifacia and José Ezequiel; and brothers, Erico, Manuel, and Pascual.
Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Sunday, January 23, from 2:30 pm until 5:00 pm at Knoll-DeVoe Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 142 West Washington Avenue, Washington, NJ.
