Obituary of Kay Kendrick

Kathryn "Kay" Emily Kendrick (1917-2022), age 105 passed away peacefully on December 15th, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Kay lived an extraordinary life that is impossible to sum up in a few sentences. She raised her family and spent most of her adult life living in Changewater, New Jersey. Kay was widowed twice, and lost a baby boy, but persevered in order to raise her 5 children. She served as the Postmaster of the Changewater Post Office and owned a beauty salon, run concurrently out of her home. She took every opportunity to travel, both domestically and as far abroad as Israel and Australia. She was a devoted member of the Changewater United Methodist Church, playing the organ there for many years, and running the church gift shop out of her home. She never missed an oppurtunity to be of service to her beloved community. 

Kay is survived by her 5 children, 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and many adoring family members and friends who will carry on her memory by showing others the exceptional kindness and grace she exemplified throughout her life and held in her heart. 

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Kay's name to the Changewater United Methodist Church, 180 Musconetcong River Road, Washington, New Jersey 07882. 

Out of respect for Kay's wishes there will be no viewing or service at this time. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
