Obituary of Ernest Brogsdale

Ernest Brogsdale, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on July 23rd, 2023, at the age of 94. He was born in Brunswick, GA, then moved to New Jersey where he owned and operated a successful dry cleaning business in Newark, NJ, for many years. Ernest married his loving wife Barbara in July 1973. 

Ernest proudly served his country in the Army Air Corps from March 20, 1946 – July 6, 1947

He is survived by his children; daughter Gwendolyn Brogsdale, sons Darrin Brogsdale daughter-in-law Tami Brogsdale and Dana, as well as his stepchildren with Barbara Carla McKie, Monica Cooper and Mark Brogsdale, grandchildren Diyori Brogsdale and Qadir Brogsdale, Shawn Reid and Nicole Reid; as well as a host of great grandchildren and extended family.

Ernest was predeceased by his beloved wife Barbara, daughter Deborah Reid and grandson Kenneth Brogsdale.

As a loving father, grandfather and friend, Ernest will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and selflessness. He was always willing to lend an ear, or a helping hand whenever needed. He had a passion for life that never diminished, despite his many years of age. His memory will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind. May his spirit rest in peace.
