Obituary of Adolfo Aurenzi

Adolfo Aurenzi, 60, of Washington, NJ, passed away on Thursday August 31, 2023, after a hard fought battle with cancer. He was born on January 24, 1963, in Phillipsburg, NJ, and was the son of the late Riccardo and the late Rita (née Berardini) Aurenzi.

Adolfo was raised in Washington, and was a graduate of Warren Hills Regional High School, Class of 1981. Adolfo joined the Carpenters Union in 1986 and had a career of over 30 years. 

Adolfo was an avid New York Jets and Mets fan. He was an outdoorsman, who enjoyed target shooting with his gun collection, taking care of his family’s legacy farmland, fishing, and camping. He enjoyed spending time in his shop where he could be found listening to his extensive rock music collection, working on various projects, or hosting winemaking parties. Through it all, Adolfo's true passion was his family, especially his beloved daughter, Julia. 

He is survived by his beloved daughter, Julia Aurenzi; 2 sisters, Margie Kolatac and her husband William and Emma Hiers; nieces and nephews, Tina and Heather Kolatac, Jeffrey and Nicholas Hiers, Alexis and Hailey Amey.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 13th at 10:30 AM, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 200 Carlton Avenue, Washington NJ 07882. Inurnment will follow at St. Joseph's Church Cemetery on Jackson Valley Road. Arrangements are under the care of Knoll-DeVoe Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Washington NJ.
