Obituary of Matthew Scott Creveling Sr.
Matthew Scott Creveling Sr., 35, of Coal Township, Pennsylvania, passed away unexpectedly on April 17th, 2024. Matthew was born on October 13th, 1988, in Phillipsburg, New Jersey to loving parents David and Tammy Creveling. Matthew was raised along with his siblings in Phillipsburg and attended Phillipsburg High School.
Matthew was an outgoing guy and had a sense of humor like none other. He was loved by all who knew him and if it was your first time meeting him by the end of the conversation, you had found yourself a new friend. Matthew had many passions in life but of the utmost importance to him was his children. Matthew loved being a father to his children and was devastated by the loss of his young daughter in 2020.
To match Matthew's colorful personality, he also had artistic skills that would shock your senses. Matthew could draw, paint, tattoo, and even burn wood in ways that many could believe to be possible. His abilities were truly a gift that he cherished. Matthew was also a fitness phenom and constantly worked to improve his physique both in the gym and outdoors hiking through the many trails our area boasts.
Matthew is survived by his parents David and Tammy Creveling, brothers: Michael, Kyle, and Nicholas Creveling, sister Megan Creveling, his girlfriend Kristy Lee, his grandparents Diane and Dave Creveling, grandparents George and Bonnie Gardner, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Matthew is predeceased by his daughter and by a brother Bryan Michael Creveling.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will take place on Wednesday April 24th, 2024, from 10am to 12pm at Knoll-DeVoe Funeral Home and Cremation Service located at 142 West Washington Avenue, Washington, New Jersey, 07882. Following the visitation a Prayer Service will be held at Knoll-DeVoe Funeral Home at Noon. Matthew will be laid to rest at Montana Cemetery located at 23 Demeter Road, Washington, New Jersey, 07882, immediately following the service.
