Obituary of Scott Alan Preen
Scott Alan Preen, 53, of Easton, Pennsylvania passed away unexpectedly at his home on June19th , 2024. Scott was born on January 11, 1971 to loving parents JoAnn and the late Richard B. Preen Sr. Scott was raised in Phillipsburg, New Jersey and attended Phillipsburg High School until his senior year which he completed at Easton High School in 1989. Over the years Scott had worked for Easton Hospital in environmental services and more recently for R & R Provisions as a truck driver, a job he loved because he constantly got to meet new people and make money driving a truck.
Scott was a kind fun-loving soul who was taken from us too soon. Everyone who knew Scott can say when you befriended him you had a friend for life. One of Scott’s best friends recalled the times they shared laughing at Cheech and Chong records, pranking their friend who was a fry cook at McDonalds and skipping school to go on adventures. Growing up Scott learned the value of a dollar and a hard days work and constantly strived to provide for himself and his
family and better the lives of those around him. Scott was a huge sports fan and loved the New York Mets and the Colorado Avalanche and rarely missed a game. Throughout his life Scott would take the hike to Queens with family and friends to go to Shea Stadium, now Citi Field, to see the Mets play. His enthusiasm for sport couldn’t be chalked up simply to wins and losses but his passion came from the sounds of the games too; be it the crack of a bat, the sound a baseball makes when it hits a leather mitt, or the ringing of a hockey puck ricocheting off the crossbar. Scott was also a movie buff and loved going to the theater to see what was new on the big screen. Scott’s work ethic and passion for sports could quite possibly only be topped by the love he had for his three dachshunds: Dudley, Ritchie, and Oscar.
Scott will be forever missed by his loving mother JoAnn Preen, his sister Sherry Tillman and her husband James, nephew James Richard “JR” Tillman, nephew Matthew Tillman, niece Jessica Tillman, and by a large extended family and many a lifelong friends.
Scott is predeceased by his father Richard B. Preen Sr., his brother Richard B. Preen Jr., and by his grandparents Calvin Smith, Eleanor VanOrden, Claude Preen, and Anna Preen.
In lieu of flowers it is the request of Scott’s mother that donations be made HERE VIA GOFUNDME to help cover the costs of Scott’s funeral.
A Graveside Service for Scott will be held on Saturday July 6th , 2024 at 11am at Memorial Shrine Cemetery located at 3051 Greenpond Road, Easton, Pennsylvania, 18045, under the direction of Knoll-DeVoe Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
