Joseph Arthur Ross, 62, a lifetime resident of Asbury, New Jersey passed away at his home on July 6th , 2024. Joe was born at Warren Hospital in 1961 to the late Arthur and Eleanor Ross. Joe grew up in Asbury, New Jersey with his family. He was a loving son; and a great brother to his 6 siblings. At the age of 16 Joe became a father and grew up fast, he learned a trade, plumbing, and began supporting himself and his family. On July 24 th , 1983, Joe married the love of his life Michele Maguire and together they raised their family in Asbury.
Joe was a dedicated family man and had a work ethic like no other, he loved providing for his family. His family meant everything to him. He was very proud of the family he and his wife, Michele, raised. When you stop and think of what you would want in a husband or a father, you would think of all the qualities Joe had. He also shared these qualities with his beloved grandchildren who referred to him as “Pop”. Pop was always there and enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports. Joe was the life of any party and had a wild side. He was a music man and loved Lynyrd Skynyrd and the Beatles, and by all accord was very good at playing the guitar. He was in a band called Gatlin where he was the lead singer and played the bass. Joe was happiest when he performed at family gatherings and could often be found
playing at local spots like the New Hampton Inn. Joe continued to express his love for music to his grandchildren by having them listen to all his favorites “Everyone be quiet and listen to the guitar in this song”. He loved going on yearly family vacations to Seaside Heights and taking all the kids crabbing. In his free time Joe enjoyed fishing and managed to fall off the boat on almost every fishing trip. He loved watching football (the Raiders) and having family over on Sundays to watch the games. Joe enjoyed watching and going to “the races”. Joe also had a soft spot in his heart for his dog Dolly, who was always by his side.
