Obituary of Alonzo Widenor
Alonzo H. Widenor 65 of Oxford NJ died at his home on Sunday December 1, 2013 with his loving family by his side.
Born in Oxford NJ September 21, 1948 he was the son of the late Alonzo and Jennie Melberger Widenor.
He was a Laborer for Local 569 in NJ
Alonzo was a 1966 graduate of Washington High School, and served in the US Army.
He was a life member of the Oxford Fire Co in Oxford NJ, a member of the American Legion of Belvidere, Warren Hills Wrestling Club, Sullivan Line Hunting Club, Merrill Creek Hunting Club, and Warren County Federation. He loved and coached Football, Wrestling and Baseball in Oxford and Washington NJ for many years. Besides being an avid hunter, he was Warren Hills Wrestling # 1 fan. He loved his Beagle and was a Baltimore/Indianapolis Colts fan since 1962. He was a active member of the Colonial United Methodist Church and has a 17 year pin of attendance.
He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Vicki (Higgins) Widenor, a son Alonzo Carl at home, daughter Kimberly Widenor and her husband Benjamin Gossett of Haddenfield NJ, two sisters Janet Pearson and her husband Neil of Mt Bethel PA, and Kate Mikolon of Oxford NJ, 9 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.
